Yipirinya School is registered as an Independent non-government school and is governed by a School Council.
The School Council is an Incorporated body with its members representing the language groups taught at Yipirinya.
The School Council consists of two representatives from each of the language groups taught (Warlpiri, Central Arrernte, Western Arrernte and Luritja).
The 2025 council members are strong community leaders with long term ties to the school with some being previous students and family of founding members.
